week 4 (1)

This week has been hectic regarding production. Spring break has created a barrier between the group due to vacations, making it difficult to have film time. This has put us behind schedule greatly and we are to make up for it. We're suing this time off for some downtime and relaxation, which only gives us more reason to work hard once we film. the filming itself should not be a lengthy ordeal, especially since we know exactly what we're doing. spring break is here!

week 3 - 3

Update: as I wrote about in my previous posts, the setting for our opening will most likely consist in a different members home. Our group member Tristan has just what we need for the aesthetic we're looking for. The comical aspect about all this, is that we were arguing about where we were going to initially film. one of the initial problems we were talking about was the fact that Tristan felt that the fact that he had a couch and other clutter in his garage, would be a problem. If you ask me, a messy garage with some old furniture fits the environment of an up and coming youth rock band. The characters a re young and especially at the start of the film it's not like they're swimming in cash. This served as a blessing in disguise and we're all happy with the final decisions. looking forward to sharing once we start to film! the individuals in the image below have no correlation to our project, but this image does help show the kind of vision we're looking a

Week 3 - 2

I wanted to write about our inspiration for this project. A film opening about some young friends who create something great with no downfalls. I personally think about groups such as the Beatles due to their impact on international culture and the imprint on the sound of rock and roll they left. Our films biggest characteristic is that there will be no plot twist nor downfall to any of its aspects. Yes its only a short film opening but the vision we have extends much farther. The only thing regarding the Beatles I'd say that I wouldn't bring to our characters is the death or murder of any of our members (r.i.p John Lennon). But we will take the charisma and energy they projected in mirroring our characters behaviors and thought processes. I can't speak on the incorporation of drug influences just yet as that is still in the works (again, all jokes). If we'd decided to mirror an iconic image to possess when referencing our film, id say we'd have to go with Abbey R

week 3 - 1

where and when? this statement extends to both the reality we live in as well as the one that takes place in our film. As I said before, the film is based here in Weston revolving around the teenage members of the groups. in filming the backstage and practice settings we're using our group member's home. In Mattias's home we will be able to capture the best aesthetic that will surely make up the vibe we're looking for, thanks to his parent's taste in decor.  If we do decide to incorporate an outdoor setting, most likely we'd be looking for Markham Park or vista View. Markham is well known for being incorporated in many projects and its a common ground for photo shoots and media creations. It's so easily accessible and its very nice, its the perfect setting for what we're looking for.  Markhams website: http://www.broward.org/Parks/MarkhamPark/Pages/Default.aspx

Week 2 (3)

The next step is editing. Editing will play a big role in our project due to the idea we have and lack of real resources. We have to incorporate sound and other factors to crate the illusion of a sold out show/room. In our scene we want to include sounds of instruments being tuned with the low muffled cheering and chants of a hungry crowd. This will be rather challenging but we have the proper means to create this and the brain power to do so as well. Apart from this we wanted to see if we could put together some props to add to the overall vibe, but that’s not our biggest concern.

Week 2 (2)

Now that we have the time and place, we must find some outsiders willing to assisst in the film process. We need people to lose as band members and/or roadies. Apart from that we wanted to have maybe one person or others around the background out of focus fidgeting with equipment to create the essence of a rush, right before the band goes on to perform. even if we can’t have a lot of people or we can’t utilize everyone to how we’d want, the end result all will look very good in creating the film aspect of a band. It’s rather cliche but so far it looks and sounds very well rounded

Week 2

We established the setting of the film and where we want to shoot. We’re gong to stage one of our group members homes to create the idea of a backstage area. This will work well due to the amount of music equipment and the homes decor. We still have a few things to think about in order to create the full image, but with what we have, i.t all Seems very promising regarding what the end result can be.

Week 1 (3)

The next step in our film opening process is figuring out The Who, the what, and the where. We need direction established so this whole operation runs smoothly. This is crucial especially since it’s JUST a film opening that they will see, that we must make the most out of every single minute we have. I personally believe that we should take a simple approach to this especially since we don’t have many means or technology available being that we’re just 4 high school boys.  I’m very hopeful and exited to see how this project will look in the end.

week 1 (2)

After drawing up the idea for what we want, the next step was the script. We wanted this script to be easy to follow and natural. By natural i mean that we wanted it to be common and easy to understand given the way the target audience should be able to relate due to the age range. A good script which makes the whole film, will be very important to execute in our film opening. If the audience does not like it from the get-go, then the whole movie will fold.

week 1(1)

This week consisted of researching, planning, and discussing what kind of project we want to create. Using our background knowledge on what we know about film and our common interests it was easy for Homero, Tristan, Mattias and myself to decide. We wanted to create a film opening on a movie about some friends who share a dream to be rock stars. the idea that separates our film from others like it is that there no downs, only ups. we want to focus on the positive aspects with no downfalls, highlighting the hard work and results that come with the fame of these young men.
